For every 20 km/h (12 mph) that I accelerate (or slow down) in 6th gear, the rpm increases by about 1,000. So at 140 km/h (87 mph) the engine will spin at around 7,000 rmp; 160 km/h at 8,000 and so on. On the highway going 75-85 my tach hovers between 6-7k in 6th and I haven't had any issues with 3 hour trips. I have a 2018 Ninja 400 and recently put a Hindler exhaust on, and ever since I seem to be able to hear a consistant ticking noise at the front of the bike. Even over the loud exhaust. I cannot remember if it was there before the exhaust either, which is frustrating.
The Ninja 300 is lightweight and agile with a 296cc parallel twin that delivers 29 kW (39 hp) at 11000 rpm. So it still needs to sing to get to its full power — but adequate torque also comes on low, making it a sporty bike at commuting speeds.
